The International Biometric Congress (IBC) is an international conference on the use of biometrics in banking. It is the largest conference on this subject in Central and Eastern Europe. The IBC is organised by the Bank Technology Forum of the Polish Bank Association (Związek Banków Polskich), in cooperation with Centrum Prawa Bankowego i Informacji Sp. z o. o. (Centre for Banking Law and Information).
The conference is a platform of dialogue between representatives of the banking sector, public administration, technology companies, academics and lawyers, focusing on the use of biometrics in the Polish and international financial and public services sector.
This year, the main topic of the IBC will be “Biometrics in the national eID”, in close relation with a project launched by the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Digital Affairs. Moreover, the conference agenda will include a debate between board members of top Polish banks, representatives of the public sector and technology companies.
The IBC serves as a platform for sharing experience. It presents the state-of-the art biometric applications and implementations in the banking sector.
In response to banks’ needs, the conference will include workshops, moderated by key Polish experts, on the use of biometrics in bank branch networks and in remote channels.
